Endorsements

And the Endorsements keep on coming! We received notification yesterday that I have received the endorsement of Asbestos Workers Local #84. I would like to thank that group for its support and for its interest in my race.

To date we have garnered a dozen endorsements including... (read more)

Welcome to the VoteChuckKeiper.org web page! Thank you for your continued support and your interest in the upcoming election. I am proud to be your County Commissioner! For more than 13 years now I've worked hard to create new jobs and opportunities for our citizens and businesses. I've used my voice to help expand our parks, to protect our farms and to provide compassionate care for our seniors. I've worked diligently to preserve and steward our natural resources and to be the voice of reason and resourcefulness. Above all I have worked to protect your tax dollars and your investment in our community.

As a life-long resident of Portage County, I'm just like you. I work full time, juggle all of the needs of my personal and professional life, and take a great deal of pride in my community, my work and my family. With your help we've created a much stronger Portage County than the one I inherited over 13 years ago when I arrived in the Commissioners' office. I helped to fix a monstrous investment problem that surfaced a few short weeks after my arrival. I helped to write and create a set of investment policies that became a model for county investment reform throughout the state. I'm proud of that.

I also reached out to the people in Deerfield and Atwater when no one else would stand with them at the Federal Superfund Site there. Together we convinced the U.S. EPA and others that average citizens ought to have a voice in what happens to contaminated areas in their back yards. We became a model for the nation and now these types of local committees are a requirement for similar Federal Cleanup areas. We're hoping to do the same thing again in Paris Township and surrounding areas as we work to stop the burning of old buildings that would likely exceed any rational toxicity levels. I'm proud of that, too.

Together we have made Portage County a better place to live, work and raise a family. I'm so very proud of that and of all the people who care enough to join their hands and voices with mine to do the hard work of moving our community forward. Let's continue together on that path. I ask for your support on November 7th so we can keep moving forward toward a future full of promise and opportunity: a future that makes us proud to say we're from Portage County.
